Asleep Under Watchful Eyes

| 4 Comments | No TrackBacks

Wrapped in the darkness of night,
The Child sleeps soundly. Safely.
Spirits stand nearby, quietly watching,
Guarding the sleep of the innocent.

Wild forces revel in the distance,
Flitting about in wild abandon.
Their chaotic revelry does not disturb
The peaceful slumber of those protected.

The guardians stand at door and window,
Keeping vigil against all terrors
While the matrons offer their nurturing love
And the old men and women share wise counsel.

Through it all, their small charge sleeps,
Comforted by unseen forces.
